Abstract

AbstractChestnut shell‐like hollow spheres of C/Co3O4 nanoparticles was prepared through hydrothermal method, and occupied as adsorbent for the treatment of toxic dyes in wastewater. The obtained material was analyzed by XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, and BET, the resultant R‐Co3O4/C hybrid hollow spheres were of hollow structure and performed excellent in the adsorption of Congo red (CR). The adsorption capacities of CR and was determined to be 446.43 mg g−1. CR was calculated to be chemisorpted on R‐Co3O4/C hybrid hollow sphere, and R‐Co3O4/C hybrid hollow sphere after been used can be fast regenerated through UV‐Fenton process at pH 3 and showed good cyclic stability.
