Abstract

Background and objectives: Chest pain is one of the most common symptoms of patients presenting in the emergency department (ED) of University Hospital Center “Mother Teresa” in Tirana. Our aim was to evaluate the characteristics and management of patients presenting with chest pain as the main complaint. Method: Over the period May–July 2012, we evaluated 217 patients admitted for non-traumatic chest pain. For each patient a form was filled with demographic data, risk factors, and location, character, spread and intensity of pain.
