Abstract

A 51-year-old man presented with sudden painless vision loss (no light perception) in his left eye 4 weeks after 7 cycles R-CHOEP-14 chemotherapy for T-cell-lymphoma without orbital involvement. Fundoscopy revealed optic disc swelling, whitened retina with a cherry-red spot of the macula, arterial attenuation, peripapillary and central flame-shaped hemorrhages, and venous engorgement (Fig A). Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed diffuse edema of the left retrobulbar tissue (Fig B) and edematous thickening of the left optic nerve (Fig B, C).
