Abstract

Chemoselective hydrogenation of cinnamaldehyde toward cinnamyl alcohol was accelerated by amorphous coordination polymer supported Pt nanocatalyst. The prepared 1.0wt.%Pt/Co-Asp nanocatalyst exhibited excellent catalytic activity (TOF = 1132 h−1) and superior selectivity to cinnamyl alcohol (89.3%) at 60 °C. This excellent catalytic performance should be attributed to synergistic effect between Pt nanoparticles (NPs) and amorphous Co-Asp polymer. Besides, the formed electron-deficient Ptδ+ species fasten H2 dissociation and promoted preferential adsorption of C=O group, which leads to accelerating chemoselective hydrogenation of cinnamaldehyde.
