Abstract
Reaction of a CH 3 CN solution of (NEt 4 ] 2 °WSe 4 ] with 1 equiv of lithium (2-thienyl)cyanocuprate, Li[(CN)Cu-(C 4 H 3 S)], affords [NEt 4 ] 2 °μ-WSe 4 ][(SC 4 H 3 )SeCu] 2 (1), in which a Se atom from the decomposition of the WSe 4 2- anion formally has been inserted into the 2-thienyl-copper bond of Cu(C 4 H 3 S) to form the 2-selenothiophene ligand. [NEt 4 ] 2 °μ-WSe 4 ][(SC 4 H 3 )SeCu] 2 crystallizes with four formula units in the tetragonal space group D 7 2d -P4b2 in a cell of dimensions a=15.732(2) A and c=14.992(3) A (T=113 K)
