Abstract
The syntheses of several new cyclometalated Pd(II) and Pt(II) complexes with ligands containing either bipyridine or the corresponding one and two C-bridged species are described. Most of these complexes contain at least one bond to the metal from an sp 3 carbon, yielding ring systems with an overall cis geometry. The ligand series has been extended to contain and sp 3 -carbon bridge and a two-carbon unsaturated bridge
