Abstract
Side-directed RNA editing is an emerging tool to manipulate genetic information. Unfortunately, most approaches suffer from off-target editing. In this issue of Cell Chemical Biology, Monteleone etal. (2019) present a clever strategy that improves specificity by combining a mutant editase with a compensating chemical modification in the guiding RNA.
