Abstract

Chemistry en Miniature is a new approach to carrying out chemical experiments. For the demonstration of the experiments we are using a video camera projector system. The demonstration is transmitted via a color- and data projector onto a large screen, so that it is easy for students to follow every step of the reaction sequence. This type of experiment needs only small amounts of chemicals compared with traditional methods of demonstrating chemical reactions. one of the important consequences of our technique is that only negligible quantities of waste are produced. In addition, schools and universities can also minimize spendings on expensive chemicals. By using the video camera projector system we are improving the techniques which are employed in various schools. This is an important reason for employing Chemistry en Miniature, as this method provides a new means of demonstrating chemical experiments in a lecture hall.
