AbstractNumerous combinations of ethyl acetoacetate (I), diethyl acetylenedicarboxylate (IX) or the methyl carboxylate derivative of (IX) with hydrazine or aryl hydrazines (V), malononitrile (III) or methyl cyanoacetate (VII) and aldehydes (II) or analogues thereof are applied to the reaction.
