Abstract
This report provides a description of an efficient and simple procedure for the synthesis of substituted cyclopentadienes via a one-pot three-component reaction of cyclohexyl isocyanide, diethyl acetylenedicarboxylate and (arylmethylidene)malononitriles in H2O under ultrasonic irradiation. The remarkable advantages are the simplicity of the experimental procedures, high yields, short reaction times, and avoidance of organic solvents.
