AbstractThe convergent synthesis of the novel potent antiulcer agent U‐68,215 (XIVc), a benzindene prostacyclin analogue, uses as a key step the coupling of the Li‐reagent (IX) from (VIII) [in turn prepared starting from the aldehyde (VII)] with the enol lactone (VI) [prepared Starting from the tetralone (I)].
