Abstract
Abstract This paper reviews applications of thermal analysis to the study of the synthesis of high-temperature oxide superconductors. TG and TG-DTA have been most widely used to determine heat treatment conditions for all types of oxide superconductors. Kinetic analysis has been applied successfully and reaction mechanisms have been determined for several synthetic routes of Ba2RCu3O7−x (R ≡ rare earth elements).
