AbstractThe asym. Diels‐Alder reaction of cyclopentadiene with N‐acryloyl‐(S)‐proline benzyl ester or N,N'‐fumaroyl‐bis(proline ester) (see preceding abstract) which is reported to proceed with high stereoselection in the presence of a Lewis catalyst, can also be carried out without a catalyst using an aqueous solvent.
