Abstract

Abstractis studied by constant load stress corrosion tests in 9 M NaOH (‐400 mV) of samples of Ni‐Cr‐Mo‐V and Ni‐Cr‐V steels containing 0.11‐0.12 wt.% P. The results show that phosphorus accelerates cracking in NaOH by decreasing the initiation time for crack growth and also by increasing the crack velocity.
