Abstract

AbstractWittig‐type reaction of the aldehydes (I) and (VI) with methyl bromoacetate (II) and ω‐bromoacetophenone (VII) in the presence of triphenyl phosphite (III) and catalytic amounts of tri(n‐butyl)arsine produces the olefins (IV) and (VIII) with high predominance of the E‐isomers.
