Abstract

Abstract A one-pot, tandem oxidation–Wittig procedure has been developed in which the reacting components are generated in situ from alcohols, triphenyl phosphine, and ethyl bromoacetate using barium manganate as a mild oxidizing agent without the addition of an external base.
