AbstractThe asymmetric ethylation of aldehydes (I) and a subsequent cyclopropanation with in situ generated F3C‐CH2‐O‐Zn‐CH2‐I lead to ethyl cyclopropyl carbinols (IV) with high diastereoselectivity and good enantioselectivity.
