AbstractCycloaddition reaction of the pyridinium methylides, generated in situ from (I), with the maleimides (II) yields the monocycloadducts (III) which undergo a second cyclization reaction with the olefines (II) or (V) to form the biscycloadducts (IV) or (VI).
