Abstract
N-Tosyl imines, prepared from aldehydes and N-sulfinyl-p-toluene sulfonamide (Kresze reaction), cyclize with alkenes and vinyl silanes in the presence of a Lewis acid to afford intermediates useful for alkaloid total synthesis.
