Abstract
AbstractFormation of hetarenoindanone (II) from 2‐methyl thiochromone derivative (I) follows a cascade reaction sequence involving an intramolecular Friedel—Crafts reaction and subsequent oxidation by selenous acid which is generated from selenium dioxide and water through Riley allylic oxidation.
