AbstractBenzo[c]phenanthridine alkaloids like oxysanguinarine (IV) and O‐methyloxyfagaronine (Vb) are synthesized by a Pd(OAc)2‐induced direct aromatic carbonylation reaction and subsequent dehydrogenation with DDQ.
