Abstract
AbstractSingle crystals of Na8Eu2(Si2S6)2 (I) and Na8Eu2(Ge2S6)2 (II) are prepared by a polychalcogenide reactive flux method using the elements and freshly prepared Na2S2 in nearly stoichiometric amounts (evacuated silica tubes, 750 °C, 150 h; 5 °C/h cooling rate).
