AbstractA triethylsilane/TmsOTf‐mediated reductive etherification is developed to allow the cyclization of diketones of type (I) and (III) to give 2,6‐disubstituted morpholines and 1,4‐oxathianes in excellent trans‐diastereoselectivity.
