Abstract
Various 2,6-dibenzylidenecycloalkanones were readily prepared in a condensation reaction catalyzed by 2-hydroxyethylammonium acetate ionic liquid under solvent-free conditions in excellent yields. The major advantages of the present method are high yields, short reaction times, lack of solvent, simplicity of performance, and low cost.
