AbstractThe cyclization of silanes (I) with alkynes (II) in the presence of a pyridine base and a slight excess of tritylium tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)borate leads to 2‐silanaphthalenes (III), whilst the reaction in the presence of a catalytic amount of borate and without base affords tetrahydro‐2‐silanaphthalenes (IV).
