Abstract

Abstract K2MnO4 oxidized allylic and benzylic alcohols but did not affect saturated alcohols under phase-transfer catalysis condition, whereas a solid mixture of BaMnO4, Al2O3, and CuSO4·5H2O selectively oxidized allylic, benzylic, and saturated secondary hydroxy groups to the corresponding carbonyl groups in the presence of saturated primary hydroxy groups.
