Abstract
Two new empirical formulas are presented for alkali halides at the melting point. There is a set of linear relations between the initial slope of melting curve (dTm⁄dP) and the solid volume (Vs) for the sequences LiX, NaX, KX, and RbX (X=F, Cl, Br, and I).
