AbstractThe method provides syn‐ or anti‐configured 1,3‐diols with the silane moiety residing at the sterically more demanding position, and depending on the trapping method of the alkoxy‐silane intermediate the products are either isolated as the alcohol or as the methyl ether derivatives.
