AbstractSingle crystals of NbF4 are prepared by disproportionation of Nb2F5 (Nb Tube in evacuated silica tubes, 1273 K, 2 d) and by solid state reaction of Nb and NbF5 (1073 K, 2 d; heating rate of 16 K/h).
