Abstract

AbstractIR spectroscopic studies confirm that reaction of Re(CO)5 anions (I) with Mn(CO)6 cations (II) proceeds by a rapid two‐electron, one‐carbonyl transfer producing R(CO)6 cations (III) and Mn(CO)5 anions (IV) followed by a slower one‐electron back transfer to the binuclear products (V) isolated (no yields given).
