AbstractWhereas with Ni‐Al alloy more than the expected amount of 2H is introduced into the phenyl ring, with Raney Cu‐Al alloy the desired ethanols (II) are obtained in high isotopic purity, as checked by the benzoic acids (III) (each halogen replaced exactly by one 2H).
