Abstract
AbstractThe title compound, which is synthesized for the first time by annealing a mixture of PbO, PbBr2, HgBr2, and H2O (3:1:2:1; 280 °C, 4 weeks), crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, space group Aba2, Z = 8. The structure consists of "isolated" heterocubane‐like groups (Hg2Pb4O2(OH)2) which are surrounded by Br‐ ions.
