Abstract
A novel cascade Friedel-Crafts alkylation/ Michael addition/aromatization reaction of 2-vinylin-doles with α,β-unsaturated aldehydes has been developed for the construction of functionalized tetrahydrocarbazoles. The products were obtained in up to 97% yield and with excellent stereoselectivities (ee up to > 99%, dr up to>99:1).
