Abstract
AbstractStepwise reaction of alkyl acetoacetates such as (I) with primary amines and haloacetyl halides followed by thermal cyclization in a mixture of polar solvents offers an easy entry to E/Z‐mixtures of the title compounds, substructures of biologically active compounds.
