AbstractThe Coupling of Compounds with the formula R′‐CXLi‐R2 (R′: ‐ alkyl; R2: ‐H, ‐Me; X: ‐Cl, ‐Br) with carbonyl Compounds at ‐ l I5°C leads to the formation of lithium salts of halohydrins which readily produce epoxides in the presence of LiBr.
