AbstractIntramolecular Stetter‐type hydroacylation of o‐(propargyloxy)benzaldehydes, e.g. (I), (III), (V) or (VII), is efficiently catalyzed by a commercially available thiazolium‐based carbene catalyst to give chromones in good yields.
