Abstract

Catalysts synthesized by reacting Cp{sub 2}ZrMe{sub 2} and [PhNMe{sub 2}H][(C{sub 2}B{sub 9}H{sub 11}){sub 2}M] are active for the polymerization and copolymerization of ethylene and {alpha}-olefins. The authors use NMR spectroscopy to investigate the coordination strength of these anions within the cobalt complexes. Catalytic effects of the complexes toward olefin polymerization were investigated. 25 refs., 4 figs., 2 tabs.
