Abstract
AbstractIm Unterschied zu den entsprechenden 2‐(p‐Ethoxyphenyl)‐5‐alkyl‐1,3‐dithianen, die zwischen kristalliner und isotroper nur eine nematische Flüssigkristall‐Phase bilden, zeigen die Verbindungen (V) (n: 5‐7) nematisch‐smektische Übergänge, wobei das Auftreten der smektischen Phase auf eine Zunahme der Seitenketten‐Wechselwirkungen zwischen den Molekülen zurückzuführen ist.
