Abstract
AbstractIt is demonstrated that the tris(2,2'‐bipyridine)ruthenium(II) cation ((Ru(bpy)3)2+) acts as a photosensitizer and ‐catalyst for reaction A, and the mechanism consists of a chain reaction which is initiated by the quenching reaction of the photoexcited Ru(II) complex ((Ru(bpy)3)2+*) by S2O82‐.
