Abstract

Here, we have developed a simple, efficient, and metal-, ligand-, and base-free method for the synthesis of functionalized aryl and alicyclic alcohols via ozonolysis of corresponding boronic acids in aqueous ethanol. The procedure is compatible with a variety of functional groups and can be utilized as an alternative method for the synthesis of hydroxy arenes and alicyclic alcohols. Here, we have developed a simple, efficient, and metal-, ligand-, and base-free method for the synthesis of functionalized aryl and alicyclic alcohols via ozonolysis of corresponding boronic acids in aqueous ethanol.
