Abstract

AbstractIn order to obtain new optically active amino acid precursors, the hydrogenation of prochiral didehydro amino acid derivatives such as (I) or (II) is investigated under very mild conditions (1 atm of H2, 293 K) by using iridium complexes of the type (Ir(cod)(bzn)(L)) (ClO4) (bzn: benzonitrile, L: tricyclohexylphosphine, (‐)‐neomenthyldiphenylphosphine, or (+)‐phenyl‐(o‐methoxyphenyl)methylphosphine) as catalyst precursors.
