AbstractThe nucleophilic substitution reaction of α‐bromoketones with sodium sulfinates followed by Ru‐catalyzed asymmetric transfer hydrogenation using sodium formate as hydrogen source provides β‐hydroxy sulfones in high yields and excellent enantioselectivities.
