Abstract

AbstractA nonlinear optical crystal of BaZnBO3F with a size of ≈20 x 20 x 0.5 mm3 is grown from a BaF2—NaF flux containing a 1:1:1:0.5:0.3 molar mixture of BaCO3, ZnO, H3BO3, BaF2, and NaF (seed crystal over Pt crucible, 850 °C, 12 h, cooling at a rate of 0.2 °C/h) The compound crystallizes in the space group P$\bar 6$ (Z = 1, single crystal XRD) and comprises BO3 planar triangles interconnected via O from ZnO3F2 trigonal bipyramids to form (Zn3B3O6F6) twelve‐membered rings which are stacked along c.
