AbstractThe rutil‐supported gold catalyst enables the reduction and transformation of aryl and alkyl nitro compounds to anilines, N‐formylanilines, benzimidazoles, N,N‐dimethylanilines, amines, and N‐formylamines in excellent yields depending on stoichiometry and temperature and in the case of dimethylanilines concomitant high pressure hydrogenation.
