Abstract

AbstractThe 129Xe and 19F NMR results obtained for solutions containing varying amounts of IO2F3 and XeF2 in SO2ClF, CFCl3, and BrF5 solvents show that IO2F3 inserts into the Xe‐F bond of XeF2 to yield the pseudooctahedral cis‐ and trans‐OIF4O oxygen bonded Xe(II)‐derivatives (I)‐(V); their relative amounts depend on both temp. and solvent polarity.
