AbstractA variety of di‐ and tripeptides such as (I) containing the dehydroalanine unity ‐ available by DABCO treatment of the corresponding chloroalanines ‐ is subjected to the alkylmercury halide/NaBH4 method to give the saturated peptides (III) with good chemical yield, but low diastereoselectivity.
