Le compose contient quatre cycles a 5 chainons et un cycle a 4 chainons accoles pour former une structure cage ouverte. L'interaction des liaisons des systemes π dans la dicetone apparentee est absente ici, ce qui se reflete dans la reduction des longueurs de liaisons
