AbstractThe diamines (II), on reaction with CO2 in methanol, form carbamates, which react with the oxirane (I) to give the mono‐oxazolidinone (IIIa) only if ethylenediamine is employed or mixtures of the mono‐oxazolidinones (IIIb) or (IIIc) and the bis‐oxazolidinones (IVb) or (IVc), which are separated by various methods.
