Abstract

AbstractCyclopropanation of dihydrodioxin (I) with chlorofluorocarbene generated from dichlorofluoromethane (II) under phase‐transfer conditions leads to the formation of the 2,5‐dioxabicyclo(4.1.0)heptane (III) which undergoes acid‐induced reaction with the alcohols (IV) to give mixtures of the 3‐fluoro‐2,4‐dialkoxy‐1,5‐dioxacycloheptanes (VI) and the fluoromalonaldehyde bis(dialkyl acetals) (VII) via the intermediates (V).
