Abstract

An efficient cumyl hydroperoxide-promoted oxidative coupling of 2-oxoaldehydes and amines to give unsymmetrical oxamides has been developed. The reactions proceeded smoothly at room temperature under metal-free conditions and generated the corresponding products in good yields. The mild method can tolerate a variety of functional groups, and is operationally simple.
